A close
look at what needs to be done to meet the NJC Code of Practice in relation
to Competent Pay
- a
one day workshop for senior managers -
We are
pleased to be able to offer a one day workshop designed for senior Fire
Service
Managers and HR professionals. The workshop is intended to help
managers cut through bureaucracy and concentrate on the all important matter
of performance management
- whilst at the same time addressing the quality assurance
requirements of the Code of Practice (NJC09/05).
Eddie
McKnight will facilitate the workshop. (He has current experience of
helping Brigades to develop robust procedures in relation to competent pay
and ’interpreting’ role maps in order to assess the performance of
managers.) In addition, a QA specialist will be in attendance and able
to answer questions about
external verification.
The day
will be informal and very practical. There will be opportunities to discuss
live issues,
you will
also receive tried and tested materials which can be used without copyright
restrictions.
Workshop Objectives:
 |
To provide an
understanding of the NJC Code of Practice in relation to competent pay
(NJC09/05) |
 |
To enable participants
to assess the suitability of their own current QA procedures, and plan
to bridge any 'gaps' |
 |
To focus on the
practical aspects of how QA requirements, systems and procedures can be used
to measure (and manage) the performance of managers |
 |
To
provide materials which
can be used without copyright restrictions, including a 'streamlined'
recording system which will ensure a clear audit trail - robust enough
to meet the most stringent external verification requirements! |
