Preparing to Teach
in the Lifelong Learning Sector
QCF Levels 3 and 4
We provide a twelve week programme suitable
for all teachers,
trainers, instructors and assessors
who are currently working in the lifelong learning
sector.
This is a practical route to achieving
a
level 3 or level 4 qualification, mapped to the new
QUALIFICATION AND
CREDIT FRAMEWORK.
The programme is
vocationally based. It is
appropriate for experienced trainers who want to undertake CPD activity, or
for people new to the sector who are embarking on their first
teaching/training qualification.

What you need to do to achieve PTLLS
through
our Programme:
-
Attend a half day, group induction session -
find out what you're committing to and decide if it's right for you.

Attend a further four, one day group sessions.

Meet with your nominated assessor on three occasions (we
visit you at work).

Demonstrate 30 hours directed or self directed learning.
You will be provided with ongoing support and
guidance which will ensure you meet the full requirements of this Award.
This will include developing a lesson plan, observing your
teaching session,
etc.

Cost:
Attend the
introductory half day at a nominal cost of £100, at this stage there
is no obligation on your part to complete the Programme.
If you do
decide to continue and complete PTLLS there will be an additional fee of £800.

The OCR awards
in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector give a threshold
licence to teach for all new teachers, trainers and tutors delivering
publicly funded provision who are entering the profession from September
2007. The Award will be a requirement as laid out the in the Dfes
paper 'Equipping out Teachers for the Future: Reforming Initial Teacher
Training for the Learning and Skills Sector.'
Please note: 'Teacher' is used as a generic term to
represent teachers, tutors, trainers, facilitators, instructors, lecturers,
practitioners. |
